The year 2017 ended with a big elopement announcement from one of my childhood friends and 2018 became the year of engagements and weddings. The next chapter of life is here – where wedding planning and festivities has become the main topic of conversation (and that’s not a bad thing!). It’s fun hearing the fiancées talk about their ideas coming to life.
But to celebrate, we always had to regroup and brainstorm what we should give to the new brides-to-be. At the end of it all, here are the gifts that were purchased for my lovely friends:
A personalized hanger for the wedding dress
It was purchased for my friend who surprised everyone by eloping in New Zealand. With no wedding gifts or that “picture perfect” moment with the dress against the window hanging on a delicate hanger, I thought it was a nice little gift upon her return to Canada.
Square Jewellery Box from Kate Spade
For friends who barely wear jewellery, this small Kate Spade storage box was picked for that purpose – to store new gems and chains that will come as the wedding approaches.
Pyramid Display Box
In Japan, this friend was proposed to with a handmade origami ring featuring three carrots (get it – for carats?) that her fiance made as a temporary placement. She was thinking of how to protect the delicate paper ring and we found this pyramid storage box that would make it standout as it should. She absolutely loved it.
With all the Marie Kondo-ing and memes going around, I would say these were purchased with the idea that it would spark joy.
